Some people come to me because right now is hard. Others because yesterday still hurts. Most of the time, it's a tangle of both, and that's the kind of conversation I find most meaningful.
I'm Ellie Foster. I focus on persistent low moods and the lingering effects of difficult past experiences that continue to shape the way you feel, react, and connect with others. If something from your history keeps colouring the present, making you flinch at things that shouldn't hurt, or pulling you into patterns you can't quite explain, you don't have to keep carrying that alone.
I also work a lot with people who feel cut off. From themselves, from the people in their lives, from any sense of direction. Loneliness, strained relationships, communication that never quite lands, restless nights. These things link together in ways that aren't always obvious, and tracing those connections is a big part of what we'll do.
My approach combines careful listening with practical action. I don't just sit and nod. I'll reflect back what I hear, offer a fresh angle when it might be useful, and make sure every session takes us somewhere. You should leave each conversation with something, a new insight, a shift in perspective, or simply the relief of feeling properly understood.
Everything I do is tailored to you. Some sessions will be reflective and exploratory. Others will focus on building specific skills or working toward concrete goals. There's no template here.
If life feels like too much right now, or if you're simply exhausted from pretending everything's fine, I'd welcome the chance to talk. We can work toward something more grounded, more honest, and more yours.
