Habits have a way of running our lives when we aren't paying attention. Some start as comfort and turn into cages. Others sneak in so gradually that by the time you notice them, they feel like part of who you are. They're not. And that's where our work can begin.
I'm Amanda Phillips, and I specialize in helping people who feel trapped by unhealthy patterns, whether that involves substances, repeated patterns, or cycles in relationships that keep repeating no matter how hard you try to break them. I also work extensively with people who feel foggy, scattered, or unable to focus on what matters to them.
My approach is empathetic but I'll also challenge you. I'm not interested in surface-level conversations that stay comfortable and never go anywhere. I want to understand what drives the behaviors you're trying to change, what purpose they served, and what needs to take their place. Real change requires honesty, and I'll bring mine if you bring yours.
I welcome people from all backgrounds, including those in the LGBTQ+ community, and those who want to incorporate faith-based elements into our work, whether Muslim, Jewish, or otherwise. Your identity and your values are part of the conversation, not something we ignore.
We'll set goals together, revisit them often, and adjust as needed. I'll give you things to reflect on between sessions, not to add to your to-do list, but to help you start noticing the moments where change is actually possible.
This work isn't easy, but it's worth it. And you've already done the hardest part by considering it.
